College Library - (Study Room Time: 8.00 am To 3.00 pm)

Being a lover of books and to fulfil the conditions of the University affiliation, certain amount of money had to be spent on the purchase of books. At the beginning of the opening of the college, the University required the Society to buy books as stipulated in its rules. Somehow, Late Dr.Abasaheb landed on the idea to collect books in donation from members of the public: 99% of the library were then obtained in donation from friends initially. So the library is built on the munificence of book lovers of Kolhapur. It may also be mentioned with gratitude that the trustees of the Shri Laxmi Dev Trust, Ichalkaranji, had been very kind to us as they made us a grant of Rs. 10,000/- for the purchase of book three consecutive years. From the academic year 2004-2005 we have started computerisation of the Library. Immediately after the reopening of the college of June, our librarian acquaints the students, especially of 11th classes, with the facilities and services made available therein. Our librarian takes lively interest in drawing the attention of teachers to new arrivals and references works. Though we have a small collection, ours being a grooving college, yet we lend two books to students, one a prescribed book and another fiction. It is true that we cannot provide a special study room to the students, but we serve the purpose by turning our library into a study-room which is kept open from 1.00 p.m to 6.00 p.m.
